JULY SIGNALS MEETING NOTICE:

--- SATURDAY JULY 10th ---
This is the regular second Saturday workday.
Gene will be at the museum both Friday and Saturday.

--- SATURDAY JULY 24th ---
This is our regular 4th Saturday workday this month.

Also Gene is usually at the museum most Fridays if that better fits your schedule. Call or email him for confirmation of the date.

11th ST CROSSING:
Gene came to the museum last Saturday (July 3) to finish some things that didn't get done Friday. Darrel was also there to work. The first thing they heard was that 11th St Crossing was working only on the island. Darrel and Gene checked voltages, transmitter output, etc. All was ok except the track relay wasn't picking up. Even the LED on the AFTAC receiver board was working OK. Gene couldn't find spare AFTAC boards at the 1.6KHz operating frequency so they replaced the entire unit with the 4.4 KHz unit that was removed from the signal 2038 circuit. All is now operating fine.

As an additional note, the crossing was intermittent -- when the last train passed before they replaced the AFTAC, the crossing worked fine. We now need to find the cause of the intermittent failure or send the equipment out for repair. Gene didn't find any visually bad components or solder joints. He will also find out if we have any warrantee remaining on this unit in case it needs to be sent out for repair.
