SIGNAL GARDEN: Ron continued his work on the new PE signal. Mike assisted him with the welding of an adaptor to convert the 4" base and mast to the 5" signal. They then primed both the base/mast and we all got to see it up and installed at the end of the day. Now we have to complete the wiring and get it operational. Photo 1 shows Ron and Allen with the new signal. ALPINE ENTRANCE FLASHER INSTALL: Additional crossing protection is being added to the new pedestrian entrance at Alpine. Two weeks ago, the foundation was completed. This past weekend, the new base and the temporary flasher assembly were installed. Pull-ropes were installed back to the existing Alpine signal case leaving it ready for wire installation later this month. Photo 2 shows Ray adjusting one of the lights. CLEAN-UP: Several pallets of batteries and other stuff was moved from the shop road area to "out-back" storage. Then all of the weeds were cleared which reduces the fire hazard and improves the look of the area. MISCELLANEOUS: Photo 3 shows the Motor Car Indicators (MCI) installed over the last few months. SEPTEMBER SIGNALS MEETING NOTICE: --- SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 25th --- This is our regular 4th Saturday workday this month. Also Gene is usually at the museum most Fridays if that better fits your schedule. Call or email him for confirmation of the date and time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For additional OERM Signals information, visit the signals website at: http://gsee.sdf-us.org/signals.
